Michael Grasso III received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine, completing his Surgery and Urology residency training at Jefferson. While in Philadelphia, he worked closely with Dr. Demetrius Bagley, developing broad academic interests in minimally invasive surgery and Urologic Oncology, advancing the field of Endourology by developing many minimally invasive therapies, designing instrumentation, and publishing significant contributions to the literature. He served as Assistant and Associate Professor of Urology at Loma Linda University, Professor of Urology at New York University and, since 2001, he has been Professor and Vice Chairman of Urology at the New York Medical College. Currently he is Director and Chairman of Urology at Phelps Medical Center in New York, Director of an Endourology fellowship-training program and Northwest Regional Director of Urology for Northwell Health. He also stewards a basic science research program in renal physiology with Thambi Dorai, Ph.D., at New York Medical College.
